Training advice?

Post by ccannon76535 »

Basically I think I need to bulk up abit more, I weigh 62kg at 5ft 10. I'm reasonably fit with my cardio but could do with still improving on it. I mainly need to do weights to add mass but peolple have said just use your own body weight, What schedule would you recommend for me?

Any help thanks :)

Hi mate, use your body weight. It's the best thing to do to prepare yourself, you can always bulk up after training using supplements and gym routines if necessary.

You just have to eat right and try to maintain a steady weight by consuming based on your activity. I personally consume far more than usual when I spend an hour running in the morning.

Here's my routine,

Up at 6, eat small bowl of porridge and raisins. Eat a banana and take seven seas capsule with a half litre of water.

Then rest for about 40 mins to let the food go down.
Start your workout by stretching, I personally start warming up by doing star jumps and leg stretches with a couple of pressups added in there.. just to get everything working.
Then get yourself outside get down on the ground and do max pressups max situps and then head off on a small run. Please note this is only a warmup as during prmc this is something that will happen.

Prior to this use walkjogrun.co.UK and create a 3 mile route.

Then set off on the route ensuring that the first 1.5 mile you take it slow and steady then the second just give it your all!

Working on core strength involves bodyweight circuits which look similar to this one below.

Set 1- 45 pressups, 45 situp, 10 pullups, 30 squats and then 30 tricep dips.
Set 2- 55 pressups, 55 situps, 14 pullups, 35 squats and then 35 tricep dips.
Set 3- 40 pressups, 35 situps, 10 pullups, 30 squats and then 30 tricep dips.

I do this routine every other morning but you can do it whatever pace you feel comfortable. Whatever you do, do not overtrain because you'll set yourself back.

Anyway, I'm gnna go train now, but pm me if you need anything else.

Don't bulk up.
Running, pressups, pull ups, sit ups, are the main components of your preparation for RT.
Other stuff like Squat Thrusts, Squats, all the body-weight exercises you'll do in a circuit training / calisthenics type class are good too.

Big muscles won't do you any good.
Muscular endurance and Cardio Vascular ability is what you need 8)

After the war we were all skinny runts and no one was that heavy, yet we all passed the different fitness tests, yet we drank smoked and fornicated at every possibility.

You don't want to bulk up too much, but 70 KG is a good weight to aim at for your height.
