Is this replacing the role of the LSW?
After reading your post I've researched it a bit on the 'net and it seems to perform a similar function...looks less awkward to run with than the LSW...! 8)

para reg dont use lsw's anyway theyre shite just a gpmg and a lmg in the normal rifle sect dunt even think the "other" infantry reg's use lsw anymore

adding to that they want a good set of eyes and effective fire out to a distance so they are on about giving them to the 2ic's :D :D :D :D so they could be tasked with delta to go up to an over watch position plus he has a radio and the oc is more likely to take a target indication off a lance jack than if a buckshee tom was sending grids down his prr
