Finally had contact with my Local TA unit

As I've mentioned on here somewhere, I'm off to do the 'Day in the life' day on 27th Feb, I was told about this back in early to mid Jan. Not having had any contact since then I decided to ring them to see if we had any more details regarding times and location. What I found out is as follows;

We are meeting up at our local TA center in the morning (Time TBC)
We then travel down to our local army barracks (Donnington, Telford) where we will experience what its like to join the TA. This will include Fitness test (1.5 mile run, push ups and sit ups) which will be assessed by the PTI. (All this is if they can get it arranged in the next 12 days, from there we do paperwork and given a date for the Selection Weekend.

I was wondering if anyone else has encountered this when applying to join the TA?

I just thought you went straight for selection, be good fun tho I bet + your have more confidence on selection be like doing it twice. Let us know how you get on.

Thats what I thought, as with anyone else who had answered my post on another site. I'm not 100% sure what the day will actually be like, and going off the phonecall I had with them, at this moment, I dont think they will either.

Could be fun I suppose experiencing all the shouty, marchy excersisey stuff before signing any paperwork. To be fair, I just want to get my peperwork filled in, Medical taken and get on with the selection weekend then onwards to training.

Same here still waiting for my interview going to have to phone back again I think, problem is some little git bashed me in the head and robbed my mobile at the weekend. robbed my h4h's band to for some reason.

I would ring them, just double check that everything is still 'on'. Are you having a 'day in the life' day too? Where is it you'll be joining?

Scum or what. Hoping to be joing the engineers in nottingham. Ive not heard of any day in the life, days going on but I wouldn't mind going on one.
