residency regulations??

Post by clows »

Hello everyone. I have lived in france for the last nine years. I'm nineteen and I would like to join the Raf as a gunner.Does anyone know if it's possible.
I'm worried about residency regulations. I'm a british national since birth.

I've started training, i can do 20 press-ups and 45 sit-ups. Run 3miles in 23 minutes.
I need some guidance thank you.

I think it may depend on you having a British passport, National Insurance Number, ect...

Check out www.raf.mod.uk for more information.

clows, you will usually have to have been resident in the UK for at least 3 years before you join. MSI64 may be the person to correct me if I'm wrong here!

You'll probably still have to live here for a few years first - one of my colleagues moved to Europe with their family when they were 8, and when they applied to join up were told they had to be UK resident for 3 years, so went to Uni first.

I think it's something to do with the background checks they have to do, it's a lot more difficult to get the information out of non-Commonwealth countries.
