Regt Association query.

Post by timex »

One for the "Old and Bold" amongst you lot...

My uncle is approaching 95 and my family are trying to get him a birthday card from the Para Regt association, problem is he is a bit of a loner and won't speak to anyone about his service and therefore we cannot get his Army number. (Doesn't do reunions either)!

The whole family knows that he was one of the first into the Para's and was extremely fortunate to survive Arnhem by swimming the river to escape, other than that nothing, nada, zilch he can't even be bothered to dig out his medals..he still wears an old Red beret that he's had for as long as I can remember.

Any thoughts?

Get all his details together and apply to get his military record, you could also write to the Parachute Regimental Association to see if they can help, the later part you might be able to do by e-mail.
