hi everyone :)

Huge Huge thanks to everyone who has helped me so far with questions n tips etc!

last monday i filled in the interest form from the army which they sent out via post the friday of last week i went in after i fone call. and filled in the same forms and was given a few booklets and 2 dvd's then yesterday(wednesday) i made my application and was given all my medical stuff for the doctor. and now doing research and reading through the paper i was given i am also being sent for a weekend at ADSC Glencorse south of edinburgh.... i am also booked in for the barb test for thursday the 25th june! at 0900hrs. in the last 2 week ive made my self known, made my application, getting medical sorted, training levels are going up getting ready, then i also have my barb test coming up next week and also the interview on the same day with a manager from the afco!! is that quick or normal?

Prepare for your med docs to take ages at ADSC as they are swamped.
The Army DOES NOT fast track just because we are short of certain trades.

You should have done your BARB before you got your Docs?????

The medical forms come after the BARB test and as mentioned before, brace yourself for a wait. I applied before Christmas, did BARB, completed medical forms to then have one sent back because i ticked yes to glasses/contacts, so i needed to get an opticians report. Had an eye test, sent all the forms off for them to come back with a rejection for a hamstring injury i had nearly two years ago. I then had to do an exercise diary back dated 3 months, a letter from work and other evidence of my fitness before they accepted. Easily a month was lost due to the medical forms.

When i was ready for my final interview at the AFCO and setting up a selection spot i found out that the Royal Artillery had ceased recruitment for a year, so i lost another week or two deciding on another Corps and setting up a new interview. Hopefully it will be worth all the effort in the end.

I got told the next intake for RLC drivers will be november, I will know more soon as everything has been cleared and sorted with my blood test.
I think my next step will be going into my AFCO to find out my exact phase 1 date.
