I'm applying for The Rifles, anybody else on here going for The Rifles??

Initially because its the regiment for my local recruiting area, and after reading up seems to be a quality regiment.
Application - Done.
BARB - Passed.
Basic Skills - Passed.
Written Medical - Cleared.
Interview - Passed.
ADSC - 19/05/09 - Passed.
Chosen Man - 08/06/09.

ITC Catterick - 23rd August.

Chosen Regiment - The Rifles.

Any reason you don't fancy the Parachute Regiment?

just haven't fancied it and everything i've read about the rifles i've liked. My brother is going for the paras.

Don't know if I would make the run time either, It's 9:40 at the minute at it's quickest but I think the Paras is something you have to be 110% sure of before you go for it.

That's true, but they both train in Catterick so the guys that don't make the Paras get sent over to the Rifles or Guards anyway. Better to have tried at least.

I see what your saying, but one thing that jas attracted me to The Rifles is that with 1 Rifles theres a chance to attempt the all arms commando course which is of interest to me.
Application - Done.

Then why not go Royal Marines? :) You see what I'm saying? It's always best to try the best things first or you might regret it. Why be a big fish in a small pond when you can Great White who sh*ts on everyone!! :D LOL

Or just join the biggest infantry reg in the army The Rifles,rifles green is the new machine not that im baised :D

That's cool, just letting you know that from my experience whenever I'm talking to normal infantry guys they always go on about wanting to do various things and never getting round to it once they get to battalion. I just figured if you're interested in the commando course, why not go Royal Marines?
The careers office guys fill your head full of sh*t sometimes to try and put you where they want you... just keep an open mind and look into other places too.
