the best thing you can do atm is go straight to your doctors, get them to give you a full check up ( even get a physio checkup if you can) so you can prove that its not affecting you. then pop down to your local afco with the results and have a chat with them. generally its a no go area for them however in your case of having pro fights and still no trouble they might actually take a look into it. by any chance to you have any ongoing treatment for it, either medicine or physio ect?

ACL injuries are surprisingly common for serving members of the forces. It is a very common injury for anyone who plays a lot of football or rugby due to the mechanism of injury (lateral impact to outer knee/lower thigh, often caused by hard tackles). There are literally hundreds of serving members of the forces who are leading full careers following ruptured ACLs.

I wasn't aware of it being a bar on entry. However this may be due to the rather long period required for rehabilitation. It can take up to a year of rehab/physio to get you back to 'fighting fit'. I'd get a repeat medical with a letter from your orthopaedic specialist stating that there are no complications and that you have full support and range of movement in the affected joint (assuming that you do). This letter should also state that they forsee no reason to impliment any restrictions to physical activity due to this injury.

If this doesn't help then good luck in your future career in McDonalds I'm afraid :-?

my partner is 11 weeks into his training in the infantry he has just been diagnosed with the acl injury which he got by playing football on base a few weeks ago the first doctor he saw after his mri scan said he would need surgery and probably be medically discharged he was to have another appointment with another doctor but chose not to go to as he did not want to hear bad news. if he does not go back to the doctor he will make his knee worse will they check up on him to see why he did not attend this appoinment he thinks that if he just ignores this it will go away. any advice please.
