Greetings... new Para applicant Inbound.
Greetings Guys...
Im Garth, 22 from Blackpool, England. I dropped in my medical forms at the docs on friday so that is the stage im currently at. In regards to training i've been going to the gym and doing running every other day, eating healthily etc and starting preparing for my interview now. In october i applied to the RAF Regiment and did not prepare for the interview properly due to other things happening at home etc and got stung, the rejected me at interview stage and so i have decided to apply to the Paras.
As a child i always wanted to be part of the SAS hah, but i will probably never be strong enough mentally for that, working along side them with 1 Para i am very interested in doing though.
I have a few questions if somebody would be kind enough to answer so i can add them to my revision notes, that would be great.
1. What was 1 Para's last deployment?
2. Where are 1 Para's Headquarters?
3. Is there a list of weekly activities for Depot or a video diary of each week that i can watch? *edit* found the list
Thanks in advance, sorry if they have been asked before.
Cheers

Mate no disrespect but it would be good for you to try to find the answers to many of your questions. Then ask to fill in the blanks. Most of what you need will be on the net. You will also learn plenty along the way. Try to gather a rounded view of the Regiment etc and not just answers to questions.
Good luck, by the way. The Para’s are ssooo better than the RAF anyway.
Their loss and all that.
I would take the maroon over the RAF everyday of the week.

By which of course Tab meant to say UKSF, which includes a certain boatey type as well, they just don't shout about it so much
Not the ones who got Iraq and Iran all mixed up I hope.
Easy done I suppose, well it all looks the same.

Erm, nope, that was someone else again...just the Navy and Royal there. Confusing ain't it Unless you know something I don't of course.
If was an attempt at humour since the boatey type are Marines.

Confused, yep they certainly were. Well they do both start with I.

Are the SBS part of the SFSG?
I think you will find that the SFSG also support the SBS mate. Or is that some humour I detect.

If your not being funny
Specail Forces:
Specail Boat Service
Special Air Service
Special Reconnaissance Regiment
Special Forces Support:
1 Para
Pathfinders (Para, not a actual SFSG but very much alike)
1 Strike Company, F Coy (Royal Marines) I think that is correct
SAS(R)
SBS(R)
SAS Signals (R)
RAF Gunners (Rock Apes)
I think thats it unless there is a even more secret SSAS not know yet
