Barracks & Google maps (married quaters?)

Post by gt1980 »

Has any one else had a look at their potential barracks or training centres on websites like google maps or aboutmyplace.co.uk.

I had a quick look thinking that they wouldn't show as they are military bases, but they do show and i think it gives bit of insight of how big they are, it's interesting.

when looking at the bases from above there always a little housing estate pretty much right next to the base, are these the married quarters and are the married quarters actually on the base or somewhere near????

I go aboutmyplace.co.uk and i put bassingbourn for the Royal Engineers and really isn't that hard to spot the barracks, sticks like a sore thumb. Interesting to see what they're like beforehand though. :D

I was suprised that you can only get quarters for just wives and not girlfriends. Seems a tad silly to me but then again im not in charge of the army.
