Hi- New Member!

Post by Apachee! »

Hey

I am 15 at the moment (nearly 16) and I know I definately want to join the Military. I have a keen interested in the Military and I am keen on Aircraft especially Helicopters. My real ambition is to pilot an Apache and I am going to try my very best to achieve this but I know it is one of the most difficult jobs ever. I hope that I can learn a lot on this Forum about the Military and I will look forward to having conversations with you guys and girls :)

Thanks
Apachee!

According to a book I have just finished, It was designed In America then the Brits got hold of It, pulled It apart and made It better.

All the Brits did was provide new hand books on how to fly it.
Made life so complicated that the entire fleet is still grounded for want of IP's and lack of spares and ground crew.

From what I heard the british designed it and made it and the americans designed the longbow radar.
http://www.agustawestland.com/products.php (note the MK1) I could be wrong though.

Yes I knew they were made at Yeovil, I went on work experience there. I was actually working with the Lynx but I had a tour of the site and as soon as I saw an Apache I knew I wanted to fly one.

I think the British one is designed at Yeovil. They just added better parts to the American one - mainly being 2 Rolls-Royce Engines which make it more powerful than the American Apache.

and Stinky - I am from Bridgwater

According to their website, the Apache is built under licence from Boeing.

South Africa built Beretta 9mm Parabellum pistols, FN FAL and Galil rifles under licence. All three were better then the originals. Perhaps the British version of the Apache has been improved somewhat.

From BAE's website, they manufacture the avionics for the Apache and other aircraft, and well as a multitude of other equipment for military weapon systems around the world including the USA.
