Diet Ok OR Crap??

Post by freer07 »

Hi guys I was just wondering if my diet is a good one for losing weight and helping to me fit if not please tell me how I could change this to make it better.

My diet is this:

Monday-porridge, a piece of fruit and a glass of pure orange juice, 3 hours later a diet shake, 3 hours later a yogurt and two pieces of fruit 3 hours later skinless boneless chicken breast with salad 3 hours later a diet shake 3 hours later a yogurt and 2 pieces of fruit. and I drink water all through out the day.

Tuesday-same as Monday but sultana bran and green tea for breakfast and Fish and vegetables in stead of chicken and salad.

Wednesday-same again except weetabix and pure pineapple juice for breakfast topside steak, a potato and salad instead of fish or chicken

Thursday- same as Monday

Friday - same as Tuesday

Saturday - same as Wednesday

Sunday same as Monday except Sunday dinner instead of chicken fish or steak.

What do you think??

I'm sorry but when I was preparing to join the Corps I just ate what was put in front of me by my Mum. I hacked Cdo training without an real problems and still see me mum 34 years after I joined up who still feeds me if I am hungry.

What is it with all you blokes going on about special diets then? Eat the proper stuff three times a day and you will be fine and dandy for Gods sake. your joining the Royal Marines not some secret society of the super fit! :o

Hahah, you saying that kids these days are a bit soft artist?

With their enrgy drinks, supplements, diet food, and pain soothing ointment?

My dad, an ex Royal, reminds me of this daily....you'r not the only one

And freer, if you're above the age of 15 you should know what makes up a good diet or not....good food you eat...bad food you do not...therefore eat well and workout and you'll be just dandy.

If you're looking to lose weight wear a couple layers (hoody) while at the gym doing cardio/or out running, to sweat it out. That or a colon cleanse can drop a few pounds.....so I hear :o

Absolute bollocks. Can't believe people actually believe this. Sweating is part of the body's temperature regulator (can't remember the exact name of it from GCSE Science, but that'll do). It cools you down so you don't overheat. Wearing extra layers in order to sweat more profusely will result in you losing weight and looking more ripped for about half an hour. As soon as you drink, the water will flow back into your tissue. Aside from the obvious dangers to your health, any weight loss is temporary.

That "diet" sounds like it would leave you with no energy...

Are you trying to loose weight?

Exactly what I thought, hardly any carbs! Scrap the salad Freer07, that s**t is for wimps, replace it with a big fat jacket spud with loads of cheese and beans!!!

Diets are fundamentally flawed because most see a lot of food as something to avoid, and so have the wrong attitude. The way I see it is that you need to look at food as fuel: the more sh!te you put into your body the harder you're gonna have to work to burn it off.

However, starving and depriving yourself of the foods you like will only depress you and probably be detrimental: just try to eat healthy most of the time but treat yourself sometimes and always make sure you are willing to put more effort in your training the next day if you go out on the piss and have a kebab the night before.

Personally I've never had a problem with food, I've eaten like a pig all my life and I'm still lean, which really pisses my mates off who put weight of if they even think about a burger :D

For your carbs you can't beat porridge and wholemeal pasta, and eat plenty of tuna and beans for protein.

Laugh out loud, touche.

No, I have many friends into boxing and to cut weight thats what they do....I only know slim people but for losing weight thats what they do.

And if you do as I suggessted and drink an electrolite drink like e-load you gain all of your needed fluids with out the amount of necessary water you had orginally lost.

It's not 'bollocks', or 'testicles', or 'nuts', because people lose weight through sweat!!! You need only need to watch the biggest loser to figure that out!!

I know I'm right because I saw it all on TV.... :o

Rubbish, boxers might do it to make weight but they put it back on again after they weigh in.

<Wot he said.Boxers only do it if they need to lose a couple of pounds in a short space of time to make the weight at a weigh in:Sometimes they even skip etc right up to minutes before the weigh in,then as soon as the weigh in is over they replace the fluids and put the weight back on.It is not advised to use this method for any longer periods of time;just as you dont put loads of weight on overnight, there is no quick way to lose weight. For example, if you look at boxers who have drastically lost too much weight over say a few weeks leading upto a fight, they are much much weaker in the ring. Those electrolyte drinks,as far as Im aware, don't hydrate you anymore than if you drank the same amount of water, but they have the benefit of certain nutrients that water doesnt, like salt, minerals, carbs etc.

Your right about the losing weight thing, my friends do usually gain those 10 pounds back after the fight, although they do eat all the foods they couldn't whilst trianing so that could also contribute. Sweating does contribute to the losing of weight gents...but over sweating may be just a temporary solution...I dont really know, I just know thats how my friends lose weight for fights.

Degrees of Passion, I thought the same thing about the use of water but electrolite drinks replensish just that, your electrolites....water does not do so. Our body has five essential electrolites and drinks such as eload replensih all five...gaterade poweder or drink only 2 and water not even 2.

That's what I found when I researched the topic.....I run 7 days a week and sweat a lot but i drank 8-9 glasses of water a day and was still dehydrated all the time.....Since eload I have been fine.
