Would an england flag tattoo bar me from entry into the royal marines?

Cheers,

Probably rascist towards all other countries in this day and age.

Seriously though it depends where it is. If it's on show then maybe - forearms, neck, etc.

Ask your AFCO for a definate answer.
Aways look on the bright side of life.

I don't think it would bar you no. I can't say for sure but I seem to remember the rules being it can't be racist.

lol I was going to get a Australian flag on my left or right arm...

I wonder if they will have a problem with that.

Lots of people in the mob have tatts and some don't.

My advice would be don't rush into it and regret it later, tatts and/or distinguishing marks could hold you back in the future for certain type of work if you get my drift

Quite a few blokes in my day had the odd tat. it's the same now, if not worse.

As for myself one night I was as a newt when one of my Oppos suggested that we all had our Blood group tattooed onto our upper right arms. We all agreed. So there I was sat in "Doc Prices" Tattoo shop on the Strasse (Union Street Plymouth) awaiting my turn. Saw me Oppos have theirs done and decided that I didn't want one (it would have cost me a night out on the piss so I backed out).

My oppos tried to take the pee out of me but I was dead firm on not having a tat. Ain't got one and don't want one even now. I've seen far to many blokes spend good money on Lazer treatment and skin grafts in later life in an effort to get rid of them.

I think if I got in after training i'd fancy the commando dagger down my arm. I've seen a few marines with em.

I know what im getting, Commando Dagger in black on right chest, the badge on left arm, and the wings on what ever arm they are ment to go on i cant remmeber now, and i may have the motto across my back ONLY IF I PASS THOUGH GUYS, i wouldnt get it done before im in they would kill me if i did that lol

Im going to take it up as a full career so might as well be commited to the corps and mark myself with it.

I always wanted a tatoo that meaned somthing to me, i cant see the point of picking one out of a book just because you like the look of it, like my old man, same opinion as me, waited till hed done 3 ironmans and then got the logo on his arm. It would have to be somthing in life that really meaned something to me, and the corps will im sure :D

p.s just another personal opinion lol

I would advise against getting wings tattooed anywhere on you in this mob.

Completely off topic.

Did anyone else notice the Royal Marine in Panorama who had the whole right side of his back covered in a black tribal tattoo (it looked like the one George Clooney had in From Dusk Till Dawn) he must have been in the chair for a good few hours !
