Sit ups

Post by Rickyboi »

Holy shit!

I really forgot how bad sit ups are, I havn't been doing very many recently because i've been concentrating more on press ups and pull ups, running, riding et etc.

So recently I decided to get more of a circuit going in my garage, 20 press ups, 1 minute going balls out on the punch bag, 20 squats,20 lunges, then I got to the sit ups and I could only do about 40 in 2 minutes and they were f@#k killing me.

Is that normal?, should I just tackle my sit ups problem like I did with my press ups, just do like 20 per hour or something? And then try and increase on that?

Cheers for any replies to my pathetic question, f@#k i'm a fat nacker. ha

I find theyre the same as with press-ups. Just keep doing them and you'll get better - muscular endurance and all that....

You'll be fine.

Is a poor effort that like 1 every 3 seconds isn't really pushing it is it, but Artist give him his dues last time sit ups was brought up was a while back now, round about May time i think!!, which i do believe you answered with your kind words of wisdom

So i do believe it was about time for another refresh of the basics.

I find the up and down method works best... :D

As for situps, just do more. Go for a daily total and just stick with it!

You could get an incline situp bench from Argos for £20 and do them too. They should make your back stronger as well, just don't overdo it.

Push ups isn't a problem really, there coming along nicley, I know for them you gotta keep those arms tucked in and get that chest to the floor.

And with the sit ups gotta get those elbows touching the floor and the knees.

It's just the quantity rather than the quality that i'm struggling with, so should I jsut treat it like the push ups? Just do half my maximum as often as possible?

Artist keep ya beret on will you, if you don't like a question why bother answering or replying to it? No wonder you got 4000 odd posts, fine you can have your respect your mr well 'ard ex bootneck, but we're not all there yet are we.

And remember not everyone has been around this website since it first started so there is always gonna be repeat questions. And yes I did search.

I would prefer if this post would just stick with the original topic rather than a heated debate about repeat posts. People don't repeat post to get on other peoles nerves, they do it because they want a sensible answer.

You ever heard or the old search button??

That took 2 minutes!!, the reason people are short and get pissed off is not because they don't want to help but the fact that people don't think, It took 2 mins to come across these 3 links, why i bothered myself i do not know

If Artist never replied to you, I or at least 100 others would have done.

Should count yourself lucky anyway the responses could have been a lot worse

I just don't see the big problem when people ask a question which is similar to or the same as another?

If you know it is a repeat then why waste your valuble time going into the post and then wasting even more time by replying to it.

I seem to notice 99% of people on this forum are here to help rather than bitch and moan about repeat posts, I did use the search button but I couldn't be arsed searching through about 300 differant posts which all have the word "ups" in it.

I might sound like a cheeky little oik but all I wanted was a simple answer, but now i've got it so thanks chaps.

Thanks for the links though, you really helped me out so so much by doing that for me.

We need the oldies here, if the nippers want to be cheeky or continue a thread after being told to end it then pull the whold thread or ban the offender for a week. Second time for good and note the ISP. Reading some of thes posts has been like something out of dumber and dumb of later :(

Go down to CTC and start asking questions that are similar or the same as ones already asked and see what response you get there my friend. Training teams certainly dont have the time or patience(and rightly so) to go over things that have been covered AGAIN and AGAIN. You may say well this in NOT CTC and is just a forum but i say to that ...so what?

You can still adopt the same mentality, and as chris has pointed out it takes very little time to do a worthwhile search. If you can,t be 'arsed' to go thorugh a few posts to find information to help you pass PRMC, then i have to wonder whether you could be 'arsed' to go through hours of admin and prepare your kit for next day when its 12 midnight and your absolutely threaders after coming back off an Ex.See my point?

The likes of Artist give invaluable advice to those of us who aim to get in and through RM training, so please don,t be selfish and p*** them off enough so they dont come on here anymore and possibly deny others from gaining sound advice.

Wow, hasn't artist got a big fan club.

Well i'm sorry to have pissed you off by being cheeky to Sir Artist, but if he is so experienced, and knows everything there is to know then what's the problem with helping somebody out with a question? And if it's so f@#k annoying for everybody why bother reading and replying to the post, surley that's just looking for an argument?

So I get a warning for being cheeky, what hapens to him for sending me threatening and pathetic posts? Bugger all I bet.

My question was a normal question, not offensive or anything like that, and obviously I don't like him to send his pointless reply which is no help to anybody.

And as for going down to CTC and asking questions like that? GET REAL, here I can ask anything I want and not get a beasting for it, people can act like they want on this forum and any other internet chat rooms or forums and be completley differant in actual life.

You think how I post on this forum has anything to do with my training whatso ever? It doesn't bother me too much that people will make such a quick and inaccurate judment of me becuase of my post, they won't be there heping me through my PRMC or my 32 weeks.

It was me asking the queston so I can PASS my prmc and get some tips and all I got was sarcasm from the so called heroe of this website.

If you need to bar me for askign a question then do it, it's not gonna break my heart. theres plent of things on the internet where I can get help.

The answer to your question is simply this: work harder.
And since you seem intent on slagging Artist and others who point out the fact that your question is bone,

Here comes your second warning.
Now think real careful.
