I would imagine that during the course of your day you may be exposed to plenty of fresh air and some mildly invigorating exercise! This should put some healthy colour in your cheeks and help to induce peaceful slumberings when you finally retire at the end of your day, thus awakening with the lark, fully refreshed and ready to face whatever challenges the new day may bring!

Alternatively

You may just fall exhausted into your scratcher, having first sorted your personal admin and be asleep before your head hits the lumpy issue pillow, to be shocked into the vertical 5 mins before you actually went to bed by your friendly Instructional Staff welcoming you to another day of training where the only easy day was yesterday!

By getting up when your alarm goes off. Its only 1pm now but I didnt get to sleep till 7am. It hard but just peel yourself out. I wouldnt have thought this as your main worry when applying for the marines though mate.

But if your really worried about this, goto bed at 10pm and get up at 6am everyday, your body will soon get used to it.

All the best,

There's never a problem waking up. Your arse is very green grass if you don't.

At CTC I had a section member who would not get up. His pit was upended against the wall for three days running. He was/is 6feet plus, I'm 5'8", no contest.
On our final exercise he tried to skive in his bag. When it was grabbed around his throat and blows rained down on him he realised it was time to get up, despite the wind and rain. Total waste of oxygen.

Luigi if you are reading this then your education is probably complete you fat useless lump.
You should talk to somebody who gives a f**k.

Just out of interest, say when you're down on bottom field, what happens when you desperately need to loo, you know, from keeping your "fluids up"? I'm sure there are a few lads that may need the loo, especially if you've been drinking a fair bit.

I ask this, because I hear bottom field can go on for up to an hour or more and the PTIs can be an ass to get along with - and rightly so

Cheers

Ive heard it all now

"how will I get up" and "how can I have a poo/pee" !!!!!!!

Eat 24 weetabix at 23:59, by 05:30 you would have shit the bed and both problems solved.

As for Pee, then stick a camelbak up your willy and when you see the PTI hanging out for a wet be a good egg and offer him some warm home made lemonade

Get a grip for farks sake!

Just a simple questions lads - no need to take offence

It was out of interest, obviously it isn't common to be busting for the loo whilst waiting for your turn round bottom field, otherwise you are extremely unlucky of stupid for drinking way too much and not going to the loo beforehand.

Again, just out of interest lads

Ayrey, I believe the above posters are trying to convey that if you are enlisting for the RM, the world is your toilet.

Sarastro, yet another reason in favour of joining the corps - j/k

I actually only thought of the question whilst sitting here, busting for the loo and reading this thread

I rarely get to sleep before 2am, but I'm always up at 7.30 for school the next day. Although I have to confess it's an uphill battle (nomatter how much my parents yell and threaten me it takes a real effort) but I get the feeling I'd be a little more motivated in training than I am on a Thursday with double Maths first thing. :o

Seriously though, how would you cope on operations when you might be lucky to get any sleep at all?

Zak :P

ahhh young 'uns, yet to learn and perfect the act of the power nap, usually taken in the back of a bedford or leant against a tree in the pissing rain :)

when theres nothing else that needs to be done its scran then eyes shut, even if you have just had 8 hours sleep, you never know when the chance will come again.
