hi,
im 17 and currently wanting to join the paras. in my spare time
i do running boxing and football.
i went on insight coarse 123 last year. and i was really unfit.
i ran my 1.5 mile in 11. 45 seconds. doing 50 press ups
and 63 sit ups. before this i had neva dun any training.
since then a joined a boxing club and started getting fitter.
i can run my 1.5 mile in 9.50 and can currently do 70 press ups
and 75 sit ups.( i have also lost 2 stone since the insight coarse).
i also like to go on the town and get absoloutly lashed on the weekend. and my fitness isnt improving.
one of our trainers was ex marine and he reckons the drink is doing no help for me what so ever.
so here is my question.
will i have to stop drinkin for my fitness to improve?

Beer and Fitness
I work in a pub, played rugby and still go down and watch most weeks, I’m surrounded by beer, vodka, god's drink (jack & coke) etc, if you can drink in moderation I cant see it effecting you, but if you do as you say "get lashed" then what do you expect.
If your serious about joining, irrespective of what regt, corps listen to your ex marine friend and do as he says.
