:o Haha no I do understand it isn't going to be easy, thanks for the insight there. It is just the fact that I have been waiting for so long during the application process that to finally have a date is great.

In terms of physical fitness what standards are required? Is it the 9.10 on the multi stage fitness test, along with 13 press ups and 35 sit ups? Or have the standards changed? Whatevr the standards I'll give it my best and go till I can do no more!

 Pretty good description... That is why preparation is a must. Especially when it comes to fitness. If you are in good shape you will find life much easier....... And remember Nash, there is a reason for everything !! That course is turning you from a mere civvy into a military minded individual. Trust me, in years to come you will look back on your training and understand "WHY!".

RIGHT, get your AR*E back down the Findlay Gym and give me 10!

Keep going mate and good luck...

Very true. It's something you begin to understand after a few years out of training. Same thing is true of the fond memories you have for it...they only start once you've walked of that parade square and got into 'normal' life in blue.

You get your kit last, joining instructions etc only after you have passed the final selection interview. All of the instructions you will get are very comprehensive. :D

Cheers biggles, what can i expect from the final interview, is there any more prep that i can do for this? i have passed all of the other parts of the process (i hope fairly well), the afco told me to expect the final "chat" (as they put it) to come about a month before my date (18th may), one thing i will say for the raf is that with the length of the process, they make certainly make you sure that this is you want to do.

Just make sure that you are FIT. Also re-read the booklets on RTS and all of the paperwork that they've given you about your trade. Many of the questions will be simular to those you were asked at your first selection interview. Show them you are really keen and don't be complacent...people DO fail at their final interview.
