i am colorblind. I have a sort of colourblindness where i can see most colours but get confused with the differences between colours etc.
What i would like o know is whether i could be in the military being:
A pilot (fighter or heli)
a royal marine
a sniper in any force
i hope the turn out of this question is a good one.

This is something that concerned for quite a while seeing as I suffer from a mild form of green/red CB.
It really depends on the level of CB & the Job or trade you want to take.
As far as being a Pilot goes, I understand your CP must be 100%
The RM have a level but I'm not sure what it is, I did however pass, I said I wanted to possibly work with electronics and mines so the Doc dug out a wire test where you connect the matching wires. I passed this with flying colours in a 5th of the time allocated.
the Test you want to be concerned with is the Ishihara test, spotting the numbers within the blotches, you can Increase your chance buy practicing with these, once you get a knack for spotting them it becomes pretty easy.
As for being a Sniper, I have no Idea but I would Imagine entry into the forces is paramount once you're there you could try your luck and if your good, your good I suppose.
In the Vietnam war they often used Colorblind people as Scouts and point men on patrol, the lack of colour vision in some areas allowed for better texture definition and thus camoflaged spots or bunkers became more apparent.
