Hi JC - I had / have a condition called 'Runners Knee' you will find loads of info on the net relating to this, its the tendon which you can feel below your knee cap running down towards your shin, if you have the same as i have you will eperience it mostly after impact exercise (Running, football) you will have pain, somtimes extream pain for upto a couple of days, this can rearly f**k up your training routine!! I have seen doctors and specialists re this and discovered there is an op you can have but is said to be only 60% sucsessfull, the best advice I have had and seems to be working is lang sessions of non-impact training ie Cycling and swimming to help build up the probem area without causing any more damage, if it is 'Runners Knee' its well worth reading up on as it can cause long term damage.
Hope this is of help

I'm not sure about the RM but i know two guys who have had op's and are both applying to the army, heres their situations:JC wrote:Edit: Btw if i have an op to fix this, will the marines accept this?
Bloke 1 had an operation on his knee because the knee cap sliped and tore some muscles when playing football, the op was a success and he's applied to sandhurst as an infantry officer, they have no problems with it, but 4 months later hes done it again and this time has to go with physio and rest because the same op twice will bar him from entry.
Bloke 2 dislocated his shoulder about 10 years ago, but it weakened his shoulder and it would constantly dislocate, to the point where he'd just rollover in bed and it would pop out

So with the army it seems to be 1 op fine but 2 ops is a no-no.
This isn't official of course, your gonna have to speak to your AFCO on this one.
Good luck, hope it gets better, i would rest till you've seen a physio though.
Personally i would go with physio and rest if you can even if you have to put back your prmc, let nature take its course etc
