I shall never forget or take for granted everything they fought for, I'll make sure that my children's children remember till they can teach the next generation of what happened.

Never Forget.

We had the 2-minute (more like 5 minutes actually, but I wasn't complaining) silence at school, and I was impressed to see nobody talked at all. I remember a few years ago when I was younger everyone would just giggle and make faces at each other, it's nice to see even the biggest tw*ts can respect the dead.

I trust that you all will be attending your local war memorial on sunday. Rather than taking the easy option and watching it all on television.

I was on the high street for the silence just after having my interview for the marines. Kind of puts things in perspective.

At work today my boss said "just think we could be remembering you in a few years time when you push up the daisys in iraq". I know he meant it in the dark humor way but still hits home.

Never forget.

IN FLANDERS FIELDS.

In Flanders field the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

~By Major John McCrae, May 1915.~

Unfortunately I will not be able to attend the parade this year.
Can't get out of work.
