Security Checks

Post by MG »

I had a letter yesterday from OASC regarding the living arrangments of my wife for the year 1999 (before we met). The letter was not particularly well written and when I rang them I said to the lady there that she had lived at her parents address for the whole of 1999.

I then rang back today to check the information is correct and the same lady further asked me where both my wife AND myself hve lived from birth! This was not on the questionnaire that I filled in as I only thought it was for the last 5 years. What is going on? The most infuriating thing is that it is delaying even further my application! :x

Have you done the full security questionnaire? Because if I remember rightly they not only require you to account for you and your spouses whereabouts since birth, but also that of your parents.

HAving checked with OASC today it is only the last 5 years for myself and my spouse - which could have proved a headache trying to get the addresses of places I lived in University.

Security checks BTW take between 6 - 8 weeks according to the very helpful lady at OASC.

It also depends on your branch. For posts like Intel the checks are much deeper and look at the history of most members of family (not just immediate).
