NEWBIE IN NEED OF HELP !!!!!!!!!
Hi all, i have been reading through training programs on the forum but they all seem to be for people well on with there training. At the moment im not unfit fit but no where near army standard, could some of you guys help me out with a program for people just starting out training for the army as i dont want any injuries, any help would be great (apart from using the search button)
Cheers guys

gwtdw, you've come to the right place for help.
First of all we need to establish a few facts.
How old are you
How much do you weigh
How tall are you.
Next we need to see how fit you are.
For this I need you to run continuouslyfor 10 minutes and see how far you get.
By doing this we can establish a base level for your fitness regime
Dont forget to come back !

Well done for starting training, the most difficult thing is to actually start!
Right, as a guide you should aim to have your 1.5 mile run time down to 11mins before you go to RSC (although you will pass for most things if you run under 12:30) and as for 3 miles id aim for under 24mins.
Also id only run 1.5 miles every other week. just concentrate on the longer runs ie 3 miles plus. You will burn more fat and increase your staminer.

You should be aiming to do a mile and a half in at least 11:30.I have a block of around 2miles that i have jogged around in 19 mins so probably about a mile in ten mins ( cracking bit of maths there)

For RSC you should really be aiming for 10:30. really PUSH yourself on the run.
They're not too picky, If you do it in 12:30, but they can see you're trying your HARDEST and cant give any more, thats usually good enough.
pressups - for RSC dont worry, they dont ask you to do any. Just work on the heaves.
