Pectus Carinatum

Post by theotherone »

I have a "mild" case of pectus carinatum (pigeon chest). It has never caused me any physical problems, but it's there nonetheless. Would something like that post a problem?

There's a search function, questions of a similar nature have likely been asked before. Other than that your best bet would be to visit your local AFCO and see what they have to say about it.

Elsewhere I've posted about my King's Squad (Recruit Training). One of the lads had a terrible pigeon chest, and he smoked! However he made it.

Poorly muscled, concave in parts, and really what it says, 'Scrawny'.

I have a mild case of the complete opposite. I ament sure on its specific medical name but its like my chest dips in slightly where my pectoral muscles are.

This hasnt inhibited me from doing excercise so far but will this condition stop me from joining? I presume its on how serious the matter is?

I was always told when i was younger that it would "grow out" ..... i cant see it happening somehow. :(

There was a lad in our recruit troop who had TB as a kid and had a chest that looked like he had a hole in him (hence his nickname 'polo'). I know it's not the same but he didn't look like he had much lung capacity (but he did). He smoked as well, had a hoofing criminal record, and worst of all was from Streatham but still managed to get in and pass out  Good luck.
