Need help on the RAF regiment
Ok mate, first things first.
Read all the relevant posts on this topic thread (look through them all if needs be) there is SO much info here when you look for it! Everything on PGAC etc etc also do a search under the author name tony dean, he has made a whole lot of posts concerning the RAF regiment.
Look at ALL of rockapes posts, they are full of all the info you will need.
Go to the AFCO & make enquiries, if needs be they will give you a fitness leaflet (fit for action?) which will detail some training for you.
From what ive read you will be required to do the bleep test to at least a 9.1 level followed by 10 press ups & 25 sit ups. This is where i'll interject personally i cant imagine there is any one out there who cannot perform 10 press ups & 25 sit ups (especially if you are considering a career in the armed forces) & if there is my suggestion is you take a long hard look at yourself & deal with what you see. Personaly id say try to be able to perform at least 50 press ups when tired & also 60+ sit ups. This should carry you over to being able to complete the desired requirements no matter how hard you are pushed beforehand.
Swimming is between 2 & 4 lengths of a 50m pool followed by a 2 minute period of treading water. All of the above are performed back to back!
The run is 3 miles in 24 minutes, to me that is just over a jogging pace but id say make sure you can perform this while tired & a lot better when not! Taffy has said in his posts that there was also a 2 mile speed march (walk so far, run so far, repeated) with a 13kg bergan. Get used to moving with weight on your back but start slowly with a walk at first.
Dunno what more to say - im on my PGAC next week now after having to postpone for 1 week. Can perhaps let you know more afterwards.

aye
I posted after I just came back from the PGAC the topic - 'PGAC Complete!' should help you a bit. Tattoo summed it up quite nicely there. The Corporal said not to practice running with weight on your back cos it'll give u shin splints. U wont fail the PGAC if u drop out of the burgen run. They build you up to carrying weight if you get onto the TG (Trainee Gunner) course.
