Hi all,
Just wondered if someone could help me out with something. I have my written test on 1 Dec and wondered how long the PFJT, medical etc usually follow on. Reason for asking is I live in Guernsey so each test means a flight over so was thinking it might just be easier (and less expensive!) to get a temp base/job in England whilst (hopefully) progressing through the stages.
In addition can anyone give me a rough idea before you get a placement if you are accepted (if it makes a difference am applying as a writer which apparently is a shortage branch and recruiting now) as can´t wait to get started.
Thanks

Hello, I think it depends on your recruiter to an extent; I had my interview and medical on the same day, three days after completing the RT test. The PJFT is set by you with the gym so can be as soon as you want, assuming the gym can accomodate you. I'm waiting for a date to start training at the moment, but as I'm going for medical assistant I've been told to epexct a six to eight month wait
. This is variable between branches though so I don't know how long you'll have to wait
.

Fluffy bunnies - Grrrrr!
Dont be fooled into thinking that a shortage branch will enter you into the naval service any quicker , im 16 days away from going to Raleigh & was told my chosen branch had vacancies but have still had to wait some time , as regard to the medical and interview its all done the same day & providing you have a good level of fitness you possibly could do the pjft the following day if you contacted one of the chosen health & fitness centers & explained your circumstances , then you will have some time as the security clearance takes at least five weeks . you probably will have to wait between three to six months for your date of arrival to Raleigh , so dont give up a job if you are already employed , be lucky .
