I'm going to begin training next month as an OM(C) Submariner.
I'm looking forward to it but I was wondering if there are possibilites to serve elsewhere aswell.
The submarine service is very apealing but I'd also like to serve on surface vessels at some point. Is this possible?
Also I've read that as an OM(C) you may also work in shore establishments. What does this involve? Will it be communicating will ships/submarines at sea?
Cheers

Submariner
I was told when you sign up for the submarine service their is no way out for 4 years , being a medic i then chose GS Medical Assistant & not Submarine MA .When the careers office fill in the form thats it but i understand that at Raleigh they do ask you if you feel you have made the right trade choice how true i dont know , anyway all the best i hope to be at Raleigh soon myself.

Hi Voodoo
during my interview he asked me what type of ma i wanted to be , so i went for GSMA then yesterday i was offerd a place as a submariner ma if i wanted to be in this year , so i opted for that choice . but during the course i may not be suitable for being a submariner so then i would just revert back to being a GSMA - submarine service is the quickest route into the navy .
