Rednecks
Do you have Rednecks or equivalent in the UK? Mexico has a redneck culture, so does some parts of Asia, just wondering? Australia looks like a whole country of rednecks, and I'm a redneck so just looking for similaraties. Pork rids crunched up over some lil smokies, mixed with egg, cheese and bread dipped in the grease washed down with some sour mash, yep that is living. Old beat up trucks, tic infested dog's, an old lady with caked on makeup, and satellite tv, sunday church and wild game in the deep freeze, man the redneck life for me.
Ya'll wanna come over here and be redneck's too? Moon pie's and RC cola is awaiting.
Do you guys have hot links over there? or is that a trailer park yank thing?

Let them call me a rebel and I welcome it, I feel no concern from it; but I should suffer the misery of demons were I to make a whore of my soul. (Thomas Paine)

Yea we have in bread country folk or yokels as I like to call them, but you would be forgiven for thinking a brummie was one if you were a foreigner, as there are so many different accents on this little isle, most of which make people sound dumb and in bread...
As for people on council estates, I’m from one, when I was young my parent’s didn’t have a pot to piss in, but they still worked all hours of the day!!! And I’m now an upstanding educated good person, who gets up for old people so they can sit down etc, this is all because of my up bringing so don’t knock poor people, or judge them from a distance, as you may one day be one....
Thanks
lew

Thats so true Lew....and the fact the majority of them faught for our country as well. I once met this 90yo old bloke who I never used to look at twice, until one day he was playing pool with his wife and I saw tatoos all over his arms from when he was in the paras, back in the late 1930's. He reminded me of Uncle Albert from Only fools and horses, with his stories of conflicts and what him and his mates used to get up to. Those kind of characters are dying breeds.

I have four daughters and a son. Am also a grandfather. I live In my own 3 bedroomed semi in (where I live). Less of the sterio typing of people hey? It is not clever and to be honest is not required. I am never going to be a Millionaire. (but I do not care really)
Most blokes who join the Marines come from Council estates/3 bedroomed semi areas or in my case a married quarter patch. Dad was in the RAF.
Two lads who live quite near me have both joined the Corp. There mum and dad have lived in a mobile home for over 30 years. They are decent nice people. OK? So leave it out.

I don't think I'm going to be a millionaire either (And if I wanted to then I wouldn't join the marines), so what's the piont in saying that? But I'm not sterio typing anyone, they do it for themselves. I went to a fairly rough school and I've had experiences with people who arn't decent people and are more or less idiots to the highest degree. Like I said many of my friends live on council estates, I myself lived in a council estate in my younger years, and unless you can joke about it like my mates do, then what's the piont. The people that I have been talking about just happen to "generally" live on estates. It doesn't matter where you live, rich or poor, but estates do tend to bread antisocial freaks. Sorry to offend you Artist.

It wasn't just me you offended but about 90% of the users. I have read your posts with intrest because you strike me as a decent kind of bloke who normally inputs a heck of a lot of sensible stuff and a fair bit of humour which goes down well with me.
"We all make mistakes" as the Dalek said leaping of the dustbin. I do not wish to get into a tirade of abuse with you or indeed anybody on this forum. Thats my say. If I ever meet you face to face mines a pint. OK?

You're first sentence says you aren't stereo-typing anyone. Your second says they 'generally' live on estates. That's stereo-typing.

By the way, Artist, glad to see your 4 offspring were well- bred as opposed to well- 'bread'.

Glad we cleared that lot up, then
The kind of Rednecks that Whitey means, don`t exist in the UK.
They do exist in OZ, however. They are called "Ockers"
The saying goes, "A good Ocker takes some beating"
Sometimes, you can`t beat the bastards hard enough
Y`all come back now, y`hear"
