A 3 miler in 18 minutes, with a 45lb bergen. :o

Nah I dont think so, I think you're either got your figures mixed up or this is a wind up.

Gaf, the assault course is to be done 3 times in unedr 18 mins and the 2 mile steeplechase is to be done under 18 min not 3 mile run in under 18 mins with 45lbs :x .

Intresting to see that you have to carry 40lbs on the 10 mile march in 1hr45mins. On the BBC series I have recently watched filmed in 1982, I thought I recalled them saying it was to be done with 30lbs. I may be wrong but if I'am right its gone up 10lbs since then.
Maybe the old man of the treck can be my commissionaire

'P' Company tests

Steeplechase - a two mile cross-country run interspersed with obstacles

Log Race - A section of men will run with a telegraph pole over a cross-country course of 1.5 miles

Milling - One minute of pure aggression against a similar sized opponent. Although boxing gloves are worn, boxing it isn't

10 Miler - A ten mile speed march with equipment and rifle.

Confidence course - You must negotiate the 'Trainasium'. A series of jumps and obstacles up to 15m (45ft) above the ground. There are no safety nets

Assault Course - A lung burning course, that will test your stamina and agility

Stretcher race - A large section will help carry a metal stretcher weighing 90kgs (200lbs) over a distance of 7 miles as well as equipment and rifles.

You will be marked on each event. You must display determination and team spirit as well as achieving set times. If successful you will then be presented with your Red Beret.
