I had an Indian in my company many years ago, 1977, so I would imagine that there has been more since then

Sticks, Was it a navy blue turban while he was going through training, changeing to a green turban on completion of commando training? As everyone else had to have a spare beret, did he have to have a spare turban?

Yup, the Corps. has to be seen as 'multi-cultural' thse days - anyone remember Sgt. Morgan PTI ?

Black as a miner and hard as nails from what I was led to believe, I know he gave us all a thrashing of a beasting that won't be forgotten :o

There have been visable minorities in the Corps as far back as I can remember. The marine I had in X coy 1977 was mne Joshi. I was relieved as CSM X coy by Darkie Nicholson, (stacks rating). One of the PSI's at RMR Scotland 1980 Buster Brown, PW1, (another stacks rating), I recall others early in my career, but did not serve with them.
