C/SGT IAN WALKER

Post by Brad »

With regret I have to let you all know of the death of Ian Walker last week, died in hospital from cancer. He was cremated at Southampton crem on Friday 28th March. The place was packed to the gunwhales with friends and family. Excellent service, a real choker. Female bugler in attendance gave an excellent rendition of last post.
Plenty of dits from his life in the Corps and after as a 'Gladiator'. Great guy and role model who will be sadly missed by all.

Rest in peace, Shipmate. We'll splice the mainbrace again when I get up there. The photo of us all in mess kit on the Intrepid remains on my mantle piece. I'll raise a glass tonight.

My deepest sympathy to your lovely family.

The Mess would light up when Ian walked in, the strongest man I ever met, and his heart was as big as the rest of his muscles. Rest in peace shipmate.

Devastated to hear the news about Ian. He was one of the best. He had a great sense of humour and was always the life and soul of the party.
Especially when ordering 'Aqua' as a main course in a Spanish restaurant.

He will be greatly missed.

My heartfelt sympathy to his family.

See you on the beach mate.

I am saddened to hear of Ian's passing, I served with him on the Hermes detachment 78/79 and can only agree with TaffBoz,

My condolences to his family

May you rest in peace.
