An American head bod was interviewed on the radio this evening. His point was interesting. In the search for the 'clean, ethical, low cost war' we have become used to the clamour that surrounds the loss of any of our armed forces. His point was poignant as the men who died in the CH46 crash were returned to Brize today.
Basically he explained that 'we' are losing an average of 6 men per day. In '91 it was an average of 60 per day, in the same time frame. Then as now, 2/3 were due to 'Friendly Fire.' So if we could eradicate friendly fire incidents we would truly get near to the sterile conflict zone.
One day the Politicos will realise and maybe listen to the demands for this 'self' protection, by that I mean protection from ourselves.
