hi
can anyone tell me anything about the kind of job you would do in the royal signals as a special operator. i might want to join but they dont tell you much on the careers website. i know they can work with marines, paras and sas but anything they normaly do will be helpfull.

You have to do normal RO's training first and do unit or two before you can apply.
Basically when you apply you do a selection weekend then if you pass that you do the hills phase of selection. You do the same routes as a normal selection but against TA times (3km per hr).
If you pass that then you join 264 Sqn where they'll teach you how to use the SF radio kit. You'll generally do pretty much what you did in a unit but far more relaxed and with decent kit - some RO's also get attached to the sabre sqn's so you get to do all their training as well.
Plus you get a para course and and extra £7 odd per day.
