Tattoos

Post by James82ah »

Is it very bad for joining if you have tattoos? I have a very small tattoo on my left bicep, simply saying Gemini with a little like zodiac type motifabove it. I know, but you know how much lasses like that star sign bollocks, it makes em curious.

Anyway, do you think it'd be a problem? It's not like I'm covered in them from head to toe.
My sincere sympathy for the friends and family and comrades of the bereaved. God be with them all. Come home safely.

Tattoo's are fine aslong as they are not racist and offensive etc. Oh and no facial tattoos etc as its a uniformed career.

I think tattoos are great so what is the Corps' attitude towards them once you are a marine? I've got a couple on my right arm which are fine (and i'm aware tattoos on the face/neck/hands are unpermissable) but on the forms it did strictly state that a large number or one excessive in size can be a bar for entry...so what happens if you join up, finish your 30 weeks and then get a huge back piece? I swear to God all the soldiers I ever saw when i was a cadet were guys plastered with tatts! Speaking of which, meeting up with some old friends from the CCF tonight and it's just those sort of crazy friendships I made that i'm looking for making again when I join up.......Oh, nostalgia...

...Actually, thinking about it, it was being deprived of sleep, drinking far too much, lots of dirty porn from the older lads, guys being shaved in their sleep (and the old warm water routine) and being bed-posted. Cruel, cruel days :D

I've never understood tattoos, I've seen some very nasty messes made on peoples skin and the subsequent infections etc. There is an old Bootneck saying "If you can't fight, wear a big hat" I apply that to many who 'sport' big tattoos. 8)

Mine are small (ish). Does that mean I can fight moderately? Nah, I don't like showing them off really, but I think they look really decent...as long as you've chosen something decent mind, a guy in the year above me got an ACF tattoo!!! Literally the saddest thing my young eyes ever did behold...Mr. Walter Mitty himself actually, told everyone he was off to join the paras (not setting his sights too high 8) ), then I found him in a pub, fag in mouth, beer in hand, "I'm joining the Para TA now...fittest i've ever been (puff)".

ach! It apears I've been had! Looks like you are right once again, according to the online translator, tatoo did not compute. :-?
And it also seems that gullible is in the dictionary, so you are wrong on that one. :D

Well it looks like you're the gullible one around here, thinking that I would possibly fall for that old trick.
and I'm related to Chris only in name, not in spelling

He's not actually gullible, just slightly misinformed. The word 'Tatu' not 'Tatoo' is Russian for girl on girl. Sounds the same, different spelling!

Actually that would make sence with that new pop act that is at number1. The girls both russian apparently lesbians called t.a.t.u.
