Lapel Badge - Fifth Element

Post by Charlie »

Saw the film (Fifth Element) last night, again......

Has anybody noticed that the headdress of the presidential guard consists of a red/maroon beret (para?) and the RM lapel badge? Yes, the Globe and Laurel!

Hmmmmmm, thinks..................

Watched it the other day, it did look like the Globe and Laurel but could it be the NATO badge, or something of that sort?

Ross,
Just to put your mind at rest, I have just reprocessed the above pic and I can confirm that both badges and especially the nearest is a RM Officers staybright cap badge, Eastern Globe ( Africa Aisia) worn without the detatched crown and Lion.

The one on the right did two extra parades for not shaving properly. The one at the back just did a 34 and an 83, cos I've always liked Hung Chow Fried rice with sweet & sour  .
You should talk to somebody who gives a f**k.

The one on the left looks like Moxie from Auf Weidersein Pet to me!

We've just had the latest series out here on the frontier, had to do a running translation for the locals. Great show!

Just goes to show how mixed up the futures going to be collar dogs Rm in Para Red..... we'll all be turning in our graves if this comes true, bad enough on film, even though they did kick ass like 82.

Mind you bags being in the machine before she gets her bandages on.......

Well most are at least TWO THICK anyway......

Then we still turn out the best of that level as well....

Turning in graves is all we will see for the next few years I think.
Still wish I was back in thogh can't stand watching our lads PERCE it in combats, I still prefer denims and stone shirts, LOVE the dagger on the arm though would join back up just for that.

Met the lads from RMR Mersey at the new Imperial War Museum, sorry it just aint smart to wear light weights around town.
