Vo2 Max [dreaded bleep test]

Post by wilson »

Afternoon all,

Im currently training extremely hard for my PRMC and hope to be ready by Jan/Feb currently working to the top end of the maximum requirements except the ol bleep test! Endurance running is my strong point but short sharp sprints seem to be a bit of an obstacle!!!!!!
Could anyone share with me any tried successfull tips on acheiving maximum results in this area?

Cheers Mateys

You could buy a bleep test kit if you don't already have one. It's the same as anything that is required when training for the PRMC, the more you do the better, stronger and fitter you get, do give up just stick with it.

When is you're PRMC?

Football Pitches seem to do it for me......

Running Around Football Pitches....Increasing your Speed a Little Bit after every Lap....
Also...Like Antelope said get a Bleep Test Kit....

Finding a Gym that has a hall is also good.....just set up a bleep test kit and do it in there....place 2 cones 20m apart and run between trying to turn on the bleep. The Pace gets faster as the levels increase.

Cheers for the adivse guys, should be a good help!

Glad i found this site as its good to absolve all the useful advise on the forum from other people trying to acheive a common goal.

Im getting myself a copy of the bleep test ASAP and then i supose its just practice, practice, and more practice........

Hopeing to get on the PRMC sometime early next year? Ive got a 12 week training schedule derived from the booklet they give you, its a bit more gym orientated! As soon as I start hitting the max standards for all the different tests I have to go back to the careers centre to get booked on etc..... Ive also been asked if I want to do the POC but think ill just concentrate on going in as regular as i feel that if its in me they will recognise that and assist me with moveing up once im in!

If youve got any other advise for me in this early stage of my career please let me knoe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Speed in short sprints can be improved by running stairs-if there is a stadium near you those are good-run up the stands a few times each day, it worked well for me when I played football.
For those who have had to defend it, liberty has a flavor the protected will never know
