Unlawful war

Post by JulesB »

If the cult defies belief and sends us into war without the 2nd/18th/249th resolution, and the war is then found to be an unlawful act, will our boys and girls then be at risk of being tried for war crimes?

How do yer spell, 'Stop hitting me officer?' " 8)

No, there was a cease fire agreement after the first Desert Storm, Saddam has only violated that agreement about 500 times, so we, meaning The US or combined coaltion forces could have attacked pretty much before the ink even dried. Besides the UN is a joke, it couldn't protect the people of Rawanda, Cambodia, Sudan, The Balklands, Iraq, Congo.......

I have to agree. From my (albeit limited) experiences with the UN I find them nothing more than a hugely expensive inspid talking shop.

One thing that did make the laugh was Kofi's threat to "throw out the US if they go it alone" - like...what use would the UN be then - its not much now, it might as well disband if they expel the US.

How could they expel the US, we pay 3/4 of the UN's bill!!!!!!!!! Go ahead throw us out, maybe we could spend that money buying poor kids shoes or something useful.

The UN is just a useless outfit providing jobs for the boys - a bit like the EU, manned by plonkers that couldn't hold down a decent job anywhere else :D

Wully, Do I sense dissent among the ranks?

I would think that after the dust settles after this lot, a serious re-evaluation of the UN, EU and NATO will have to take place. I agree that we have built an inept beaurocracy that can achieve absolutely nothing but to promote their own pissing importance.

Totally agree Wully, there was an advert in the Guardian for a positon in the EU, it was for a 'Xneophobia Officer.' And the job description was 'writing essays on examples of xneophobia in the EU.' The salary for the position was £70K a year!!! Why??? It says it all really when bafoons like Chris Patten and Neil Kinnock hold senior positions in the EU, the biggest gravy train in Europe. Forget Red nose day, shut down Brussels and use the millions saved for something useful.

Hi Andy
We should pull the plug on the EU; it's run for and by Germany and France who make the rules and totally ignore them when it suits them.
I'm all for starting a new Commonwealth with Australia, New Zealand and Canada only. But I don't think those countries would want anything to do with us after we shat on them like we did. How could we possibly decide that people from those three countries would need a visa to enter the Uk when any Tom, Dick or Harry from Asia and Africa can walk in as though they lived here.
For God's sake don't get me started on this subject.

Funny you should mention that Wully, HH and I had toyed about with the same idea. Could this be a new goal to aim for?
