help with ur thoughts?

Post by hannibal143 »

hey,

just finished my undergrad in military history, signed up for paras as my first choice.wednesday received a call been passed my medical, and arranged meeting for tuesday coming,i guess for ADSC arrangements.

my barb:60+
my training:
circuit (each day)---100 dips,35 chin-ups,490 sit-ups,490 pushups(sit-ups and push-ups mixed variations,e.g fists,extensions,kicks,SEALs style etc),crunches(variatons;speed one leg changes,slow etc),50 kness-to-elbow,

then, each day various runs(long distance including local welsh hills,40mins or so,hill reps and a mile with 35lbs of weights,100m jog on a 400m track, then a 100m fast run, repetitions for 6 rounds, also incl is the 1.5m on a 400m--5 tracks around it is 9mins;6 rounds always 10.40-11.20,keep in mind everyday runs and training)

everday:10+mins roping;30 or less mins of punching-bag.plus evening light weights(variations according to days, maybe biceps, shoulder etc for each day).

so wat do you all think ofmy chances, for paras?my second choice option are the rifles, followed by R Welsh.

Quite a fitness regime you have going on.

Im sure you will be fine if you dont injure yourself before you even start.

These 490 press ups, 490 sit ups..... Were they on the Wii or the X-Box? And why 490? Could your PC not handle 500?

And Dips.... Was that WITH Doritos or without?

5 sets:
per set----45 push upsx2;45 sit-upx2;20 dips;6-7 chin-ups (all x5) +40 squats etc.takes it depends from 25 to 40mins (depending on the run a just finished,if it was a 40min incl hills tend to be tiresome, and hence a breather needed to rest the aching muscles,if 1.5m then 30min or so.by da way,i have been prepariing myself by waking up @ 0500hrs everyday.thus the day begins wit the runs, folowed by the circuits, breakfast READ not watch or playstation(i embarrassing can not play them,n dont own one) rest, then before lunch the 30mins punch-bag + skip roping 10-15mins.then work (part time),evening just after work before shower and dinner, light weights as per day plan(shoulder, arms etc),notmore than 25mins.then hit da shower, eat, watch something, halla @ mates,n bed at around 2100hrs.

anyawz, thanx 2 all who did help, and i woz actually looking more at the analysis of my 1.5m times, wat do you all think of it?

What is there to analyse? You need to be able to run 1.5 miles in under 9minutes 18 seconds to be in with a chance of passing Recruit Selection and starting Parachute Regiment depot. Simple.

Ahh SH i see you a big fan of these tramps as much as me (some people call them students)! ive got mates who did 4 years at uni to get a degree in David Beckham and still work stacking shelves! WHats the point, he could of stacked shelves and not been 10k in debt!

Like Paratrooper said, do the run if you cant run somemore till then what ever you do is pointless as you wont pass and be aloud to start!

hey,

am literary learning a lot here, from just the replies (esp.,haters, haha, thanks==haters, becoz u dnt know me n readily judge me),on (that learning on) the psychology of paras (or seems infanteers).at least wen i go 4 da icebreaker n interviews,i would know to keep ma gobble shut on my educational achievement(which i forgot to tell, haters particularly, that i have been,or should say suppose to be starting my postgrad,as i have been accepted by glasgow uni, brunel, leicester and nottingham(to do military studies n the last, behavioural psychology).

why i dont do sumtin not so nutts wit ma life;the 10+proffessional of my degree(civil servant, journalism etc) or choose army career that with ''status'',simply, personal reasons,i owe sumting to our armed forces, and promised myself to payback wit the service at it most desperate time, like now with the war on terror.secondly, was offered military intel or officer training and sandhurst, but i choose the trenches, where the essence of soldiery is at.....yeah i am a romanticist.

in simple words,my choice here is based solely on principles of honour and duty,to the country and family.bullshit, you say.here, the army(paras),were responsible for my life...all i can say.you wanna hate, and jiving bollocks to feel good about yourself(and the feeling that this forum seems to gives u,of regency..yeah regency, that supreme authority, wisdom and machoism,i did it..so u all listen to me,and u have to)then f@#k it,go 4 it,mate.

well,to those who just finished ADSC,gives us details a la foreign legion forums.for example, medical what specifics, interviews usual questions, breaking the days in detail, waking up time etc.

thanks in advance, and sorry to any feeling of offensive to anyone, not intended to be so.

I'm sorry, what language are you typing in?
Only I speak 5, and it's none of those...

What exactly are you trying to ask?

davo - do you think all students are tramps? Just interested, cos I happen to have a degree. Be very careful how you answer that.
