RAF "CCT" HALO parachuting?

Post by mutter1 »

Image
pic and this is the caption with it
"A United Kingdom (UK) Royal Air Force (RAF) Combat Control Team (CCT) member (left) and a US Air Force (USAF) 62nd Special Tactics Squadron (STS) CCT member prepare to land after performing a High Altitude Low Opening (HALO) non-competition demonstration jump at McChord Air Force Base (AFB), Washington (WA), during the USAF Air Mobility Command (AMC) sponsored Rodeo 98 airlift competition."
Can anyone shed any light on it?, never even realised they did HALO jumps?

No one in the RAF has an operational HALO/HAHO capability mate. Only PF and SF have. Shit bust.

In fact the PF used to regularly take part in the Rodeo comp, which might explain the pic. Don't forget the Yanks regularly mis-quote our armed forces.

CCT are FACs and TLZSO teams, the RAF don't even possess CCTs, they have one or the other. The PF and SF have both of these skills in-built into thier patrols.

PS Don't ask me to explain if you don't know what I'm on about.
