THIS IS THE BBC'NEWS'

Post by Wholley »

As the only voting American left in these hallowed halls I have to say how disgusted I am with the BBC coverage of the IOWA Caucuses.
According to their'Political Correspondent'the front runners for the presidential race are,

Hilary Clinton(Two faced lying cow who claims to have always loved the New York Yankees although she's from Arkansas)

John Edwards(Smiley faced ambulance chaser who could not refrain from choking his home states industry to death so as to enrich himself)

Barak Obama(To dumb to know we cannot afford to invade Iran.
Hopefully for his own sake he won't try to stump in the South)

On BBC 'News'? 24 no mention was made of the republican candidates.
Wonder why?

Auntie Beebs political staff then predicted a less than 10% turnout.
Hil's was predicted to win by a landslide.
45% of Iowan's turned out.
Hilary came a sorry third(Although she say's it is still a great victory for democrats) :o

Now to the republicans which the BBC failed to mention.

Mike Huckabee(way to right wing ,even for me)48%

Mitt Romney(ex Governor of Virginia,so alright by me)13%

John McCain(see Hilary Clinton,I was for the war and then against it)3%

Rudolph Gulliani(I'm a New Yorker but live in Florida)zip, nada.

I will keep you updated,as I'm sure you will be glued to your keyboards until November 11th.

Wholley, does the General Election in the UK get as much attention in the US as the US elcetions get here?

Shame about the BBC, I always watch their news rather than Channel 4 or ITV, surely they can't have a 'political leaning' like has been reported in newspapers? Guess we don't know what goes on behind closed doors!

I saw in one paper a while ago, splashed across the front page,

Bush and Blair Corporation  For some reason that made me annoyed. Sort of thing that stupid tw*t George Galloway would say- oh hang on, he already does.

http://bbc-biased.blogspot.com/ Found this site, some of you might like a read.

But I still like watching or listening to the BBC.

There are some left Bert, unfortunately they all live in the South :o
apart from Florida of course which only contains Brit tourists who when pulled over at a traffic stop get out of their cars to try and placate the officer, then wonder why their/wife/family/pet/has got shot.
I just applied to the powers that be for an Absentee Ballot.
No wonder the Troops who tried to vote last time were pissed off.
Nine farking pages of what you can and cannot do.
I'm still reading through this bureaucratic nightmare.
I think it will be cheaper and less angst inspiring to fly home and vote.
Of course if I was illegal and my name was Pablo this prob would not arise

I thought Romney was governor of Massachusetts?

Either way, you're spot on about the Democrats.

My preference would be Rudy or John McCain.

This process has been going already since last summer when they started campaigning. No wonder they get such poor turnouts, they're bloody sick of it by election day.

I think the reason the main focus is on the Democrats is because they not only, potentially, have the 1st female Presidential candidate but the also, potentially, the 1st black Presidential candidate and that's why they're news worthy.

John Edwards hasn't really gotten much attention here either so it's not just the Republicans. Any kind of 1st "something or other" is always going to draw more attention than the status quo. (and I'm not talking about the band before someone says it  )

You are quite right.
Romney was the last republican Governor of Taxachusetts.
I think Rudi has lost the plot.
McCain is not a real Republican(See my Last).
His only claim to fame is he and his wife had dinner at the Whitehouse with George and Laura.
(My Wife and I had an agreeable meal with George and Laura, just the four of us and the food tasters) :P

I have no knowledge of that event if it did indeed happen(which it did not)
I can tell you that CIA were not involved. They really don't exist(Honest Injun)Just a figment of J.Edgar's imagination.
I was not the third gunman,I was not photgraphed on the 'Grassy Knoll'
No-one saw me there as I wasn't in fact ....there,
There really was no Grassy Knoll....Really.

Note to self,Don't mention the Grassy Knoll anymore,or the magic round that makes left turns whenever a Governor is close.
Fcuk!!!!Did I say that out loud.

This message will self destruct in ten seconds....or not,as it does'nt exist.(Honest)

It seems Hilary doe's not need an opponent to lose the Democratic nomination.
Caught three times just this week in lie's.
Lie#1
"I landed in Bosnia in 1996 under sniper fire"
In fact file footage shows her shaking hands with the local dignitaries and some American Generals while standing on the tarmac.
Lie#2
"in 1998 I helped bring peace to Northen Ireland by opening the first Catholic/Protestant playground for children in Belfast"
In fact she wizzed in in her motorcade, said a few words to some womens group and left.
To this day the playground has never been used.
Lie#3
"I love my husband and our relationship is as strong as ever"
Fact. They have lived apart for over six years.

With all the eye gouging and hair pulling going on in the Democratic party I think John McCain is a shoe-in even if he is a little short of the folding stuff.
