Veterans Badge

Post by salona »

Just received my Veterans Badge this morning. I only applied for it a week ago. Excellent quality badge in a quality case. Worth applying for.

Glad you liked it.
I thought it was tat and a cheap opt out to a medal.
Certainly Australia issues a medal for all those who
served and wherever,as due recognition. I believe
NZ does as well.
There are guys who have served in such Brit units
as the RAMC for 22 years with bugger all to show.
Such service should be recognized and this example
is not a one off.
It is tat and I will never wear mine.:agrue:

Surely someone with 22 years service would at the very least have received the LSGC medal to show for their service.

Soldier Magazine has several posts on this subject.
There were three which might interest you albeit all
made good points.
a)Aussies lead by example.
b)No medals after eleven years.
c)Veterans badge is an insult.
Check archives for the RAMC man.

I see your point. The badge is an insult if that is all you have to show for your service.
