im sorry but if u wanted to join the Marines, you wouldnt just give up because of one incident! It takes will power and determination and if one thing like that puts u off, perhaps u dont want it enough!

It sounds to me like you do not have the maturity to make any decision concerning your future at the present moment.

I can assure you that Royals do not give up at the first sign of trouble, their training is the toughest in NATO and ask anyone who knows anything about the military and they will tell you that if they were if a hostile situation they would rather be with the Marines than any other force.

You have no idea what the circumstances were and therefore you are not in the position to pass judgement on what they should or shouldn't have done.

Firing rounds is not always the best answer, hence the term 'thinking' soldier. If you intend to dedicate yourself to the Marines have faith in their abilities because I gaureentee they know a lot more about how to deal with hostile situations than you do.

I appreciate a good bite, but this has gone far enough. There are young people on this site who tend to take things that are said as gospel, and our efforts to help them will only be hindered by such stunts.

Did anyone clock the accent of the interrogator for the matelot Nathan summers?

Perfect English accent and grammar, one wonders if the captives think they are talking to the British ambassador or embassy staff. And being told what to say by people they think are their superiors to get it over with.

Dirty trick

Ive never been to a place wheres its so easy to get people on bites! Throw anything dear perce will bite! bless em!

I had noticed the interrogator! iwould not be surpised had he have been passed off as the British Rep. over there, who are they to know any difference!

Been said that Jacks Capture training only involved a video and a Q&A sesh, hardly good enough one thinks, seems as though Royals ruffusing or getting different treatment. I know alot was said prior to Iraq, the Republician Guards where to class Royal As SF if captured and treated as such maybe thats what happening in Iran?

I cant see what where able to do to be fair, cant cause shit as we dont have enough resources or money to fight somewhere else. Bombing runs? only stir up as the Iranians will support Al Queda etc in Iraq even more openly, maybe SF? US had troubles before with that option, think this could be dragged on for somewhile yet!

You might know something I dont but what Ive seen on the Telly and Papers there all being treated the same. And one of the Marines as made a statement apologising for entering Iranian waters. Not that Im blaming him. I would as well if my safety or others depended on it. Everyone he dont mean it.

There is a fair chance that if this guy is pretending to be the British ambassador, he'll probably have told them that they did just stray over into their waters and those guys probably believe they did. After all only one or 2 of them would have been using navigation equipment.

As far as I have seen though, no marine has made any statements on air or written anything down. Although 90% of the media quote Nathan summers as a marine, because of his camo uniform in the interview. But haven't seen much news today.
