TWO WEEKS TODAY!!

Post by sky ninja steve »

I go for basic in two weeks and was thinking of putting my experience on here wheni come back every six weeks just wondering if it'd be a welcome thread or would i be wasting my time???
if i do go ahead with it u'll all have to bear with my punctuation and spelling and such like as i suck big time at that sort of thing.

Go for it, not a waste of time at all.

Yeah, go for it. Its always good to hear how blokes are getting on in training.

I wrote a training log when i was in depot. Every night i would write down what we did that day in terms of PT and thrashings, and all the other training we did. Really good to look back on and im glad that i spent the time doing it...never know, might be material for a book one day. 8)

There are computers down in Helles Barracks, the WRVS chick down there runs all that stuff, i think her name is Val but dont quote me on that. But that is for after week 6 when you will be allowed a bit more freedom.

Once upon a time you would never have the time for such things for the first few weeks, but if you have the time then we would love to hear from you.

A young man joined the army and signed up with the paratroopers.

He went through the standard training, completed the practice jumps
from higher and higher structures, and finally went to take his first
jump from an airplane.

The next day, he called home to tell his father the news.

"So, did you jump?" asked the father.

"Well, let me tell you what happened," the son said. "We got up in the plane, and the

sergeant opened up the door and asked for volunteers. About a dozen men got up and just walked out of the plane.

"Is that when you jumped?" asked his father.

"Uh, no. The sergeant started to grab the other men one at a time and
throw them out the door."

"Did you jump then?" asked his father.

"I'm getting to that. Everyone else had jumped, and I was the last man
left on the plane. I told the sergeant that I was too scared to jump.

He told me to get off the plane or he'd kick my butt.

"So, did you jump?"

"No. He tried to push me out of the plane, but I grabbed onto the door
and refused to go. Finally he called over the Jump Master. The Jump Master
is this great big guy, about six-foot five, and 250 pounds. He said to me, 'Are
you gonna jump or not?'"

"I said, 'No sir, I'm too scared." So the Jump Master pulled down his
zipper and took out his you-know-what. I swear, dad, it was about ten inches
long and big around as a baseball bat! He said, 'Either you jump out that
door, or I'm sticking this little baby up your ass.'"

"So, did you jump?" asked his father.

"Well, a little, at first."

anyway better go get me train speak in six weeks (hope fully)
