Help....
Iv had a Med Board, and on the paperwork they have written "Permanently Unfit for Service" im gutted....
Since going home, iv already had one private consultation regarding my health and am in line to see another two specialists.
The first guy i saw told me that they have been treating the symptom and not the cause, and that he thinks that my condition (bad back)can be cured and that i can get back to peak physical condition.
Im hoping the other two specialists are going to say the same..
Is there some sort of appeal to the "Permanent" wording on the form which will allow me to sort my back out privately and then get back in to the regiment.
If so who or how do i go about appealing against this.....
Cheers
John

Don't panic.
My fiancee was planning to join the Army.He passed and was given his date to begin basic training. However, a few months before he was due to leave he was knocked off his motorbike and broke his back.
The army instantly dismissed him and told him that there was no hope for him. This angered him so when he had recovered he went to a specialist and had a medical. The Doctor who done it told him and gave him report saying that he was fine, healed and fit to fight with low possiblity of future problems.
He went to his local ACIO and they gave him the adddress of the senior medical man who looked over his appeal. The told him to wait and try again in a few years. This wasn't good enough so he went to join the RAF regiment who told him it wasn't a problem and hey presto he was accepted.
You have plenty of options still open to you if you can cure your back. Go to your local office and ask for the address of the man in charge medically and then start appealling against the decision made against you with the correct reports.
Hope it helps

Good luck and keep your chin up!
If the Mob can be proved wrong then it should be easy to reverse, however, this shouldn't be taken lightly. Most prob. depends on the trade you are trying to obtain.

Make sure that you apply for a pension because of your disability. The more severe it is the more you will get from the Veterans Agency,Tamjepg54 wrote:Help....
