theres lots of different tried and tested methods eg soaking them fully then putting your feet in letting the boots mould to your feet. Generally the easiest way i believe is to start off by walking in them and build up to running in them after all thats what you'll be doing when down there. im sure others will be able to tell you more accurate ways. www

We`ve covered this before, many moons ago so try search.
The two best methods both involve getting the boots saturated and running in them whilst they are dripping wet. Method one is the Artist version, hot bath, soak boots, go for a run. At the end of the run apply stacks of kiwi but don`t try shining them, you want the leather to absorb the kiwi and then leave them in water till the next day when it`s back in the hot bath again. Repeat for as many days as you like, but a week is generally long enough. The wet leather will assume the shape of your feet and the kiwi will replace the oils washed away by the hot water.
Method two is almost the same except you need a bucket of urine to soak the boots in. This method is as old as boots are. The uric acid in piss breaks down stuff in leather which gives it stiffness. Stale piss was used for centuries to prepare hides so it`s not as daft as it seems.
Mostly, I just used hot water but when I was a racing snake I prepared a pair of DMS using piss. Those boots are still like the softest kid leather.
Ref blisters, Bootnecks have more idea about the prevention of blisters than anyone else. One thing causes blisters and one thing only. Friction. Eliminate as much friction within the boot and you will reduce the chances of blisters. Avoid any sock with nylon like the plague. I use two thin pairs of pure cotton for most things and for long distance walks I use a thin silk inner pair with cotton outers. I`m not saying I`ve never had blisters, I`ve not had many though. Break the boots in and elliminate friction and you`ll be fine.

Had to check the date on this one .....
Yupp - Urine - and Mink Oil as in H's detailed plan....
Fill the first, often...... don't drain
Use the latter, externally, often
Works on Drizabone hats too - softens 'em a treat - ( drain before using )
Don't borrow your oppo's boots
Trog
