Green Machine wrote:I have my interview soon and one of the things he said he might ask me is where the royal marines are at the moment. Am I right in saying that they are in Cosivo, N. Irland, Iraq and Sierra Leone. If there are any other places that anybody knows of where the Marines are could you please let me know asap as my interview is only a few days away.

Dont forget the UK aswell. I forgot to say the UK in my interview. You would be wise to find out exactly where the RM are based in the UK e.g Plymouth, somewhere else down south, and that base in scotland where they are aswell.

We also have troops in the Falklands (remember, thats where the Royal Marines surrendered to the Argentines) :P

Paratrooper01 you forget that as well as Royal surrendering in the FI they only did so after costing the Argies dearly and they were out of bundook ammo.
As opposed to a CO of paras who did a section attack of one 'himself' armed with a stirling against a GPMG out of his range.Got zapped and was awarded a VC for his stupidity.Yeah great stuff from the bird shiite boys.

You could impress them by naming the CO's and where they are;

42 Co, bickleigh

etc

You could get around this one by saying...

"I'm sorry, that information is restricted and subject to the OSA, and as such communicating it to a third party may be construed as an offence."

or

"Under the Geneva Convention I am only allowed to give my name rank and serial number."

10/10 instantly for BS......

There was me thinking that you had adopted some Common Dog.

Would not rate your chances to highly if you ever met any of the blokes who surendered Down South only when the Governer, Rex Hunt ordered them to.

As it was NP8901 didn't do to bad really. Created a ruck of Argie casulaties at no cost to themselves. Whilst other members of NP8901 plus some of HMS Endurances RM det also took out a fair few Argies and nearly sank an Argie Corvette with a Charlie G at South Georgia.

Not bad for just under a hundred blokes with no heavy weapons to speak of really. Were you even born then Paratrooper01?

The Globe and Laurel is a great read and keeps you up to speed for interviews, the CPO at my local AFCO said surprisingly few lads knew the name of the current Major General.
If you get stuck just say Julian Thompson, goes down a treat :agrue:
