my training regime

Just wondering if my training regime will be enough to get me through pgac any feedback will be much appreciated.

Monday- 2hrs boxing training( mostly upper body, skipping and general boxing training)

Tuesday- running club usually do about 3-3.5 miles

Wednesday- boxing 2hrs

Thursday- runing club 3-3.5 miles

Friday- boxing 2hrs

Sunday i play about 1-2hrs 5 a side

im going to introduce swimming on a monday or wed morning and possibly a sat, and some gym work on tuesday and thursday

any feedback will be much appreciated

Hiya beed1984, I'm also preparing for PGAC at the moment and here is my current regime. I find shorter runs at a very strong pace are very good, say 1.5 - 2 miles.

Monday
I ride my bike 2 miles to a cross country course for my run, I find this usuful as it warms me up for the run.
2 Mile Cross Country run
Ride my bike back home 2 miles.
Followed by -
20 Presups
50 Situps
30 Dorsal Raises
30 Tricep Dips

Tuesday
Morning Swim
20 Presups
50 Situps
30 Dorsal Raises
30 Tricep Dips

Wednesday
I ride my bike 2 miles to a cross country course
4 Mile Cross Country Course with a sprint for the last 300 metres.
I ride my bike 2 miles back home
20 Presups
50 Situps
30 Dorsal Raises
30 Tricep Dips


Thursday
20 Presups
50 Situps
30 Dorsal Raises
30 Tricep Dips

Friday
Bike ride 2 miles
Run 2 miles Cross Country
Ride back home 2 miles
20 Presups
50 Situps
30 Dorsal Raises
30 Tricep Dips

Saturday
Run 2.8 Mile Road Course (After doing Cross Country it's a nice feeling on the road as you feel very poweful and can really go at a great pace.
20 Presups
50 Situps
30 Dorsal Raises
30 Tricep Dips

Sunday
Bike ride 2 miles
Run 2 miles Cross Country
Ride back home 2 miles
20 Presups
50 Situps
30 Dorsal Raises
30 Tricep Dips

Your training regimes sound quite intense, it is always a good idea to build in at least one rest day to allow your bodies to recover.

ditto... anyway... up til three years ago I worked in training wing at Honington (MoD after leaving the RAF) and I've seen a fair amount of PGAC courses go through... You shouldn't have too much problem as you're thinking the right way already... half the guys that can't manage PGAC fail on mental rather than physical fitness... playstation generation and all that !! Good luck with it !
