Speaking of tolerance, I should ask my old friend whether or not he ever wore a red dress, a black feather boa and combat boots while driving the Harley. I suspect he could have gotten away with it, given that he's one of those people who knows how to kill someone 58 different ways.

Whilst your point of there being a lot of shirtlifters around may be true in principle although for you to get upset about a bit of moisturiser, (which by the way I admit to using after shaving) you should have seen the early eighties! new romantics and all that = it had to be seen!

Anyway I I had to laugh at your statement that "women do it themselves, for f**c sake"

Anyone here who has witnessed childbirth will know that the pain threshhold of us mere male mortals is way below that of the stronger sex. See a baby being born and you will never doubt this.

Getting back to the point, I notice that a lot of the post war prefabs have been renovated, you know the ones with the wriggly tin around the top half of the house. They now look much like normal houses.

Much the same as spider huts I suppose, I had the pleasure of experiencing these creations on a 'course' some years ago. Come to think of it I also seem to remember not getting the opportunity of spending a lot time in them because we were otherwise engaged sweating a lot.

Ploggers,
have to agree with you there bud.
Watched both my childrens births
The first(A girl) was an absolute pain for my first wife.
Eighteen hours labor, finally induced, when the the Midwife said"You have a beautiful baby girl, would you like to see her?"
Her answer"No, give it to him,he started it".
Sometimes it's best to just keep quiet.

Who says the thread has wandered? Maybe the baby was born with a mullet?

back to the prefab thing

HOUSING SHORTAGES
By the end of the war, over four million new homes were needed in Britain. A vast number had been destroyed during the war, but fewer than 200,000 had been built between 1939 and 1945. In addition to those destroyed by bombs, houses were required for the two million couples who had married during the war. Emergency measures were therefore needed.

PREFABS
Prefabs provided an important immediate solution to the housing shortage at the end of the war, because of the speed and ease at which they could be built. By January 1948, almost 160,000 had been built and allocated at a cost of almost £216 million. Each unit had an average cost of £1300. Although built only as an emergency measure, many prefabs were still being lived in over 40 years after they were first constructed.

I watched my daughter being born. The whole process from the first contraction took just under 24 hours. So why the f**k do women always want MORE kids? They wax their legs as well, pluck their eyebrows and wax bikini lines. They're f****ng insane, I tell you. With this surge of pretty boys spreading, maybe we're going to become the weaker sex? :o :o
Ploggers, you have a good point about the new romantics from the 80's. They died out, so maybe there's hope for the male species yet, eh?
