I knew Sgt Vince Philips who lost his life on Bravo 2 Zero. His loss was caused by a Gloryhunting Pillock who ignored SOP's from start to finish.

To me thats smacks of bad Soldiering. As it would to anybody who has ever soldiered. Be it SF, RM, or Army. I couldnt care less if you agree or disagree to be honest with you.

All I know is an Oppo died. And that is not funny. So be careful who you badmouth on this forum. Be it a single person or an entire Corp. OK?

neil, have you got the wildies mate, or are you trying to win friends and influence people?
Whilst agreeing with certain aspects of your recent outpourings, I take issue with your use of the words Southern Jessie in conection with our own dear Prez.
Have you tried Nurofen, btw, wahoo mahomet

El Prez
I am well aware of RM habit of looking down on what they consider to be lesser mortals. RM are taught in basic training, basic Infantry skills, in exactly the same way as the Army. What sets them apart is the commitment and dedication needed to qualify for the Green Lid. The same is true of the Parachute Regiment, qualifying for the Maroon Beret. You shouldn't spend too much time looking down, you'll get a nasty crick in your neck see Harry Hackedoff I believe he has some Nurofen. Everybody having completed their basic course does continuation training in their own skill.

Artist & El Prez
Chris Ryan was not the patrol commander of B20 so how did he f#*k up? Andy McNab (not real name) was responsible as the patrol commander
he made the decision's on the ground. Therefore the f#*k up was his, my point was as you (el prez) were not there how do you feel qualified to pass judgement? quote the first casualty of war is the truth, no plan survives contact with the enemy. I am sure you have both heard that before. McNab wrote B20 to make lots of money, Chris Ryan (real name)wrote "The One That Got Away" to tell the story as he saw it and to rebutt fabrications. By the little crap hat (ex Green Jacket) and to make lots of money.

You are not the only person ever to loose a friend do you want me write a list? It does not matter if it's 1 or 21 it hurts and that hurt does not go away.
As for slagging off RM can't help it (Utrinque Paratus) Glory hunting pillock sounds about right.
By the way carve that lump of wood into a big spoon and you will be on the right track el prez, oh and Harry the Liffy is a long way south of the Tweed.

I am fully aware that other people have lost Oppos. Vince was one of quite a few I have lost. Both RM and Army in point of fact. I never mentioned Chris Ryan in my post by the way. And I must be a bit of a novelty as I gave up looking down, up, sideways, at other Arms when I realised that every unit/sqn/ship the lot in fact are trained to do a certain job and 99 times out off a 100 do it extrememly well. Also used to leap out of C130's. Summut to do with the extra money to be honest with you. :D

Glad you agree ref my Opinion of the "Illustrious Leader of B20" how anybody can read and believe the total "Jackanory" rubbish he wrote is beyond me, but he got in first and has never looked back. Such is Life.

El Prez is a good bloke by the way. Met him, like him, will meet him again.

Fawning sycophancy will get you anywhere you sweet boy!
Neil, sorry I was wandering the woods this morning and realised I was referring to McGrab. Hence my arrogant discourse on 'his abilities'. I'm not overly convinced by Ryan; but as you say I wasn't there, thankfully.

Armchair warriors, don't you just love them. Now I've got this chuffing big spoon do you want it back?

If you look at some of my previous posts on this fourm you will see that I have said the same thing in roughly the same way,
Harry
I have misplaced my copy of How To Make Friends And Influence People may have used it to wipe my arse with, am reading The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists at the moment more to my liking. I have tried nurophen but find Stela much more palletable

Hi folks,
No I haven't been on holiday - just on the piss!
Neil - I get bored by the sort of discussion that has been going on.
Any sort of mission is controlled by what you encounter. B20 was probably no different - BUT - I wasn't there and can't possibly comment on the accuracy. Both Andy McNab and Chris Ryan broke the unwritten SF law (until recently) by writing books to make money. (Sir Peter de Billiere also!).
That is the only "crime" in my eyes.
SBS had a similar problem recently in Iraq. when they were "bumped" by a superior force and had to do a fighting withdrawal. Luckily, they got away without any losses, apart from a couple of landrovers. (I wonder how they got those in their canoes?!!).
According to the press they were cowards who ran! Who knows? We weren't there.
Neil - don't bite so easily.
The boys on this forum would have you on a hook every day of the week - and I like you too much to lose you!
You have a bit of experience about such matters which is invaluable.
PS. Try Bacardi instead of Stella. It is much more effective as a painkiller (and sedative!!)
