It was ok, nothing scary unless you can't stand needles! They don't bother with the EEG any more, so it's just corneal mapping, spirometry and ECG on the first day, then nothing to eat or drink after 8pm except water. Next day you kick off with the blood test, after which you're allowed breakfast, then you get shipped out to a private hospital for the chest x-ray. Ten back to Cranwell and you're free to go. You ARE allowed alcohol in the evening, as long as it's before 8pm, and obviously don't overdo it!
You can have peace.
Or you can have freedom.
Don't ever count on having both at once.

You get there for 1500 on the first day, and are finished about 1100 on the next. There was 5 of us, apparently it's usually only 3.

5 pairs of trouser twists, delivered to the door - £2.50!
One lad at my aircrew meds bought his at an outdoors equipment shop, (Not the one beginning with M!), when they found out he was joining the RAF they gave him a 20p discount per packet. Nice work!

They're on your kit list Tom!
They are like mini bungee cords, you can get them from most camping shops, or if you must the NAAFI, but they're about twice the price in there.

Hope this helps, although the 'See note' parts confuse me as there is not 'notes'

Trouser bungees. get to know someone in the mortar section of the RAF Regt. and ask for some rubber rings, (they stop the mortar rounds rattling in their containers). They last a lifetime.
You should talk to somebody who gives a f**k.
