Im shattered, just got back from RT3 which was great fun. A whole weekend of shooting! The only problem i had was when we had to do our BPFA. A month of drinking, no exercise and eating crap and i was in no fit state.

Means im spending the next 2 weeks preparing for RT4 and the CFT!

Did anyone actually keep to there fitness training over Christmas?

No, i ate, i drank and i feel like a blob again!

Smile man do you do a BPFA every time? On Mods 1 and 2 (Which i guess is your RT1 and RT2) we did a BPFA both times! I dont want to do it on Mod 3 which is this weekend.

Oh well, gym everyday till Friday!

Im in a lot of pain right now. I had to do my BPFA on RT1 and RT3. On my RT2 i had to do an introduction to weight carrying - 2 miles with about 25 pounds. On RT4 i have to do my CFT - 4 miles with 55 pounds so i dont think i will be doing a BPFA. I may have to do another BPFA on RT5 but i dont know about that.

Have to wait til about June/July to do my CIC though.

I did find out that our annual camp could be in Georgia, America which sounds pretty good.

Cant wait til my training is over so i can go on company weekends.

If you have been in the TA unit say RGJ for 1-2 years, you then decide to join RGJ full time, do you get put straight into a existing company or in with recruits that have just completed training ? Sorry if this has been asked before, I couldn't find it if it was.

Going from Terrier to Reg through the backdoor doesn't happen. You can put your name down for tours and you can apply for FTRS (Full time reserve service) but i don't know what happens if you get accepted for FTRS.

No because you fully trained up, hopefully with a few years experience and you'll be attacted to a unit.

As a TA soldier, you can usually skip phase 1 training, especially if you have an operational tour under your belt. That is, if you're going into a similar unit in the regs to the one that you were in with the TA.

Just keep asking. Ask at the careers office - if they say you have to do it all, ask when you get into training. Ask, ask and keep asking... And by the time you're done asking, you'll have done phase 1 again anyway and you'll be a few weeks from the end of phase 2. :)

Hope this helps;
Mat
